Hi, I am Nick!

I am a fully certified and accredited Transformational Coach, NLP & Hypnotherapy practitioner who identifies as a highly sensitive guy, INFP, Enneagram 4, emotional health, wellbeing, and peer support advocate.

As a boy, adolescent, and younger man, I spent many years feeling unworthy, ashamed, overwhelmed, and overstimulated by my environment, often feeling no meaningful connection to myself, the other people in my life and the world in general. This led to various long-standing toxic and addictive behaviours behind the scenes that at various times cost me partners, friendships, jobs, opportunities, and money as well as my overall health and wellbeing.

The lowest periods of my life were filled with crippling anxiety, depression, and low self-worth – my initial response to these challenges was to numb out, ‘keep myself safe’ and unconsciously build invisible fortresses around me. However, over time, I began to recognise I was keeping me stuck where I was, isolated and eventually I started consciously reaching out for help and support which has taken many forms in recent years.

I have invested heavily in my healing, personal development, and growth via talking therapies, holistic 1:1 coaching, leadership development, group programmes, self-directed learning, all the while, embracing and refining various daily wellbeing and mindfulness practices. My ongoing commitment to this inner work and self-care has allowed me over time to transform into living a more compassionate, congruent, connected life.

It also has unlocked a deep passion and purpose within me to create and hold safe spaces for people to explore their inner and outer worlds and to support, coach, encourage and keep them accountable to make the changes they desire and deserve.

Is your internal chatter filled with "I am" statements that negatively judge yourself?

I am bad
I am weak
I am incapable
I am nothing

Shame develops within us all stealthily over a long period of time when such thoughts accumulate and become "truths" to us - a part of our identity that we keep secret and hide from others. We can become stuck in these patterns and emotional states of being that do not serve us or those around us as a result.

So if this resonates, I would invite you to begin to compassionately observe and challenge these negative "I am" statements when they occur, rather than automatically believing them simply because they are your thoughts and feelings....are they REALLY true?

Chances are they are absolutely not!

Here's something I have embedded as a truth to support the release of my shame when I notice it:

I am worthy and enough right here, right now simply by living and breathing as a human being - beautifully imperfect and always capable of learning, growth and change.

So are YOU!

Did you know approx 80% of an average person's thoughts are negative & 95% of them repeat daily?

I was a slave to my limiting beliefs for years, not feeling capable or worthy of living a meaningful and purposeful life. I kept myself safe and small for such long periods, rejecting opportunities, losing friends and partners along the way and have had to experience debilitating anxiety, deep depression and unhealthy habits to cope along the way.

I never knew for such a long time that I had the power within me to work on my limiting beliefs, never mind overcoming them!

I still find myself getting in my own way sometimes, but developing the self-awareness, tools and curiosity to work with these thoughts and feelings allows me to move through and beyond them and to now support others to do the same in my coaching business using my personal experience and training.

Being able to work holistically with the subconscious and unconscious parts of my clients really does open up the way for them to open up new neural paths and belief systems that reveal their untapped potential and create transformational experiences for themselves.

I am feeling a lot of you are experiencing high levels of negative self-talk at the moment - I have had more than my fair share of it to deal with myself recently!

Self-talk happens in your mind all the time and is perfectly normal. The content and feel of your internal chatter can often be linked to your past experiences and core beliefs, many of which are likely to be negative and can lead you to feel difficult emotions. It can impact your self-esteem and lead to behaviours and habits which don't serve you or those around you.

If your self-talk tends to be negative, please know that you can with time and intentional effort make changes, which begins with developing your own awareness of it and I always recommend bringing as much curiosity and compassion to this process as you can, rather than any judgement. Some other practical steps you can regularly and easily take to move your inner chatter towards a more loving state:

🔶️ Challenge Negative Self-Talk

'I am not good enough' becomes 'I am doing my best and my best is enough'.

🔶️ Practice Positive Self-Talk

Develop powerful 'I am' affirmations.

🔶️ Step Outside of Yourself

Would I ever talk to my best friend like this?

🔶️ Talk It Out

Share your self-talk in a space where you feel safe, seen and heard. Connect with others.

🔶️ Get Into Your Body, into the Present

Get outside, exercise, try guided breathing and grounding exercises

Finally, if your self-talk is negative today remember that you are a unique and amazing human and are always enough ❤

The Self-Care Collective begins tomorrow ❤

We can't wait to facilitate this space for us all to create, refine and grow your self-care and come back home to your SELF.

Over 3 months, we will come together weekly in a safe space to share, reflect and ground your nervous system. We will support and keep each other motivated between calls in a community group, and come together monthly for bonus workshops covering ropics such as emotional resilience, nervous system regulation and confidence. Any sharing will be confidential, but the rest of the calls will be recorded if you can't make the live spaces and worksheets provided to develop your reflective practice.

We have created this space because of the profound effect experimenting with and committing to daily self-care habits has had on our wellbeing and ability to navigate life's challenges. It has provided the foundations for us to safely leave the protective fortresses of our comfort zones and begin to create a more compassionate, congruent and connected life that feels authentic as a result.

Hi, I'm Nick Edgar & I am a qualified and accredited transformative life coach, neuro-linguistic programming and hypnotherapy practitioner 👋🏻

At 48 years of age my purpose and passion is to create and hold safe spaces for people to fully explore their inner and outer worlds.

I provide the support, encouragement and accountability to my clients as they empower themselves to take aligned actions towards creating the authentic and meaningful life experiences that they desire and deserve.

My previous outer world experiences include playing football semi-professionally, representing my country as a teenager, gaining a degree in Theology, teaching English in Italy in my 20s, becoming a singer/songwriter, co-forming a band and releasing an album in my 30s and all the while developing coaching and mentoring experience within a variety of environments including sports teams and corporate leadership roles which I extensively concentrated on in my 40s until launching my own business a year ago.

However, my inner world life experiences tell a contrasting story. As a highly sensitive man, I spent many years feeling overwhelmed by my environment, feeling no meaningful connection to myself, other people in my life and the world in general. This led to various long-standing toxic and addictive behaviours behind the scenes that at various times cost me partners, friendships, jobs, money and my overall health and wellbeing leaving me with crippling anxieties, depression and low self-worth. Eventually I asked for help and that's when my own transformation began.

In recent years I have invested heavily in my healing, personal development, growth and training via talking therapies, holistic 1:1 and group coaching programmes all the while embracing and refining various daily self-care practices and goals. These experiences have taught me to live a more compassionate, congruent and connected life and unlocked a deep passion and purpose within me to support and coach others.
